Christmas Charity Shoebox Appeal

This year, Rastrick High School students and staff showed care and compassion, by putting together 80 charity shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts, that by the time you read this will be arriving in Romania, to be distributed to needy children in one of the poorest countries in Eastern Europe.

The generosity shown and the selfless nature that has been clearly demonstrated, illustrates how we as a Rastrick community rise to the challenge of helping those in relative or extreme poverty.

This annual appeal, which started ironically in Romania back in the early 1990s, has collected and delivered more than 124 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories.

There will certainly be plenty of smiles radiating from the faces of 80 Romanian children this Christmas.

Thank you once again.
