Ethan called up for audition semi finals

Year 11 student Ethan Marescaux is hopefully set for the limelight as he has just heard he has been selected for the semi finals for his audition for the part of 'Tommo' in the musical 'The Girls' written by Take That star Gary Barlow and Tim Firth.

In the first audition, Ethan performed a script that he was sent by email. He arrived early and was one of the first to be auditioned and obviously impressed as he was recalled to audition again on Tuesday 23rd June. This time Ethan had to prepare a song which he was to perform. He chose his rendition of ‘Grow Old with You’ which is a song from the movie ‘The Wedding Singer.’ He also had to perform a script that he had been sent to learn.  Again successful, Ethan was one of five individuals who got through to the next round out of the 200 who auditioned in Leeds.

The part for ‘Tommo is described as ‘a great lad - a sportsman, good looking, cocky and girl mad!’ and the play will run from November the 14th until December 12th at  Leeds Grand Theatre, when the show moves to ‘The Lowry’ in Manchester.

Yesterday Ethan received the call to invite him to audition this Saturday and if he gets through this will send him to London for the final round. He has received great feedback so far and feels confident going into the next one so we would all like to wish him good luck - break a leg!
