Letter from 10 Downing Street
I'm sure we all wonder at times whether the politicians in London listen to the views of the people. So a group of year 10 students decided we would test the theory and voice our opinions to the Prime Minister regarding a project in DT.
We were asked to look at the health problems of sugar and the possibility of introducing a tax on sugar, explaining what we thought the advantages and disadvantages would be. We then sent David Cameron a letter explaining their work and included nine pieces of work which showcased the opinions of the group.
A month later, we were thrilled to receive a letter back from 10 Downing Street explaining that the PM appreciated the fact that we had taken the time to voice their opinions and that our correspondence had been passed to the Department of Health to consider.
It just goes to show that you're never too young to have a voice!
