October Half Term Inspiration
On 26 October, a group of Year 7s attended our half term Inspire Day.
The day, run by Sadhana Patel from Aspirational Learning aimed to raise the aspirations of our Year 7s and inspire them to succeed.
Sadhana spoke to the students about vital life skills they will need to succeed, such as determination, confidence, resilience and teamwork, before the students were challenged to apply these skills in our very own Great Rastrick Bake Off where they had to bake and design Halloween themed buns.
The students worked exceptionally hard, overcoming the challenges that were put in front of them throughout the event, from Mr McConnell eating all of the decorations, to the green food colouring running out. The students showed innovative thinking and determination to overcome these challenges and be successful.
There were some exceptional designs on show, but the ultimate winners, judged by our very own Mary Berry, Mrs Mallett, was team Esalisaam, which comprised of Esa, Ali and Isaam.
Mr Watson, who organised the event said: "All of the students worked very hard throughout the day, listening carefully to the inspirational messages Sadhana shared. They all left the day with a clear vision of the successes they want to achieve and equipped with the skills they will need to achieve their visions."
