Ski Trip to Italy 2016
Rastrick High School took an amazing trip to Madonna di Campiglio, Italy for this year’s fantastic ski trip.
Each day started in the hotel, with beautiful views over the Dolomite mountain range before Mr Thomas woke everyone up on the bus with his personalised raps to ‘Boom Boom Boom, let me hear you say Wayoo!’ which everyone loved! Once everyone was awake, we hit the slopes, splitting up into our groups, which ranged from complete beginners to experts, like Mr Watson (or so he thinks!).
Each group went on lots of different runs in both Pinzolo and Madonna, improving their skiing abilities as well as doing lots of falling over, with plenty of snowball fights thrown in for good measure. On the final day, each group were able to choose their activities, with some choosing to visit the snow parks to do some jumps, and others challenging themselves on the Black runs.
At lunchtime, everyone was able to sample traditional Italian food; proper pizza! This went down a treat and everyone loved the food.
The staff at the hotel were amazing and even let us all use their on-site nightclub, which we had exclusive use of. After our evening meal, RHS staff put on a variety of activities, from swimming to a Mr and Mrs style quiz with our best friends. Mr Glover even turned into DJ Glovebox, taking over the DJ booth in the nightclub! The winner of our talent show this year was Amy Newill, with her rendition of Somewhere over the Rainbow, followed in second place by Matthew Bottomley (singing Dear Darling, by Olly Murs), and in third place, Annie Wright with her skiing poem.
It was a great week, which everyone really enjoyed. Roll on Ski Trip 2017!
