We pause to remember...
At 11am, staff, Governors and student representatives paused to remember...
This is a time of solemn reflection. We are here this morning to represent the Rastrick High School community in remembering those people who are affected by wars, both in the past and now. It allows us time to think about all those people who suffer in wars around the world and it reminds us how important it is to work for peace.
We remember those who have died for their country in war. We particularly commemorate the passing of all former students from this school and its predecessor schools. From the First World War generation, we remember the 32 boys of Rastrick Grammar School who lost their lives between 1914 and 1918; and from the Second World War, we remember the 18 former students who died.
We remember all who have lived and died in the service of mankind.
