Year 11 Prom
Rastrick High’s Year 11 school leavers gathered together for their farewell prom on Friday 10 July 2015.
The typically poor British summer weather held off for the day and we were treated to a glorious balmy summer’s evening in the picturesque setting of The Venue, Barkisland. Almost 200 students arrived in style to celebrate the end of their GCSE’s and five years of high school. Modes of transport were original and varied, ranging from a classic Bentley to an ice-cream van. Our guests were dressed to impress with a dazzling array of dresses and on-trend tailoring that turned our students into celebrities for the evening.
A red carpet led the way into the black and red themed dining hall, whilst we were treated to live music from our very own Year 11 band members. A three course meal was served before presenting the ‘Oscars’ for categories such as ‘Cinderella’, ‘Prince Charming’ and ‘Scrubbed up well’. Prom King and Queen were voted for by the students, with the titles going to Niamh Cornelly and Harjeevan Singh.
Prom 2015 was definitely an evening to remember and a fantastic celebration of the achievements of our students throughout the year. Thank you to all students and staff who made the event memorable and a fond farewell to Year 11, 2015.
